Category: Exhibition Visual
Curator: Haosong Xu
Designer: Ivy Chen

Inside the Camera provides a political and emotional space for HIV/AIDS discourses. It reviews the oppressive roles played by policies and regulated media against the queer group which is misinterpreted as “HIV/AIDS-related”. And it evokes the loss and trauma caused by the virus in the past decades. Inside the Camera recalls the memory of systematical oppression which comes form various perspectives and explained how the minority group flies while being forced to live under the radar.

The project also raises the awareness of the pandemic and ripples off the reflections in the community about the stories of how artists fight back the system and showcases the recorded campaign now and then.

Inside the Camera is a video tape full of sorrow and rebellion, a memoir of the lost.
